If you find any Linux Junkies here, please ask them to start using
TrueOS if they want something else to do rather than attacking and
criticising Windows 10 users.
It has got PersonaCrypt and GELI disk level encryption which they can
brag about saying how wonderful and secure their OS is.

<https://www.trueos.org/>
There is new Video just created about TrueOS which they can watch it

Just another Troll to be filtered out and I wonder where
he gets 600 million Windows 10 devices. Probably if we count
all the Linux in embedded devices we would easily pass that.
I got Linux in my TV, in an Android tablet and a Epson
printer, a wireless phone and two laptop/notebook devices.

That is not saying much.
Windows in its previous versions wasted a lot of work time
and resulted in loss of functionality and privacy. It was like
a culture medium for viral intrusions and other malwares.

Don't forget that the second most sold OS (iOS/macOS) runs on 300
million devices, customer base seems to be fare more satisfied with
there devices than the third runner up (microsoft windows) and both of
them together are far fewer than the Android/Linux with more than 1.5
billion devices. (this only including phones, tablets, laptops and desktops)
If including the IoT, servers, switches and so on, then the user base of
the third ecosystem would be so laughing small that no one would care
about the numbers.
Don't forget that microsoft earns over 2 billion USD from FUD
Android/Linux licenses, for them their own OS just becoming more of an
economical burden.

The majority of people in this group do scripting either as a leisure activity or as a vocation, so I have doubts God consider automation to be "sorcery". owl is far too idiotic to write a complex script. The only scripting he's able to do is simple stuff I did years ago. Generally, I wouldn't call a post like owl's posts a fabrication right up until you negate it (as you are here) and owl responds with the gibberish knowing he can't prove it. Now that nobody is speaking to owl, he's making it sound like he's figured out the right timing -- when in fact, people are just beating him at his own game. Usenet is a free concordat based on virtue that owl lacks. owl asked to be rated according to objective trolling criteria, which I indulged. I do not know if there is a no-cost FOSS program to handle such tasks.

Lots of individuals keep talking to owl. To be clear, I don't chide God for for his rants but I can not understand why he comes here other than to mess with owl. God is better at conversations as seen in an IRC forum and support forums bother him too much.

And in retaliation you have nothing but an attempt to start something.

F. Russell can't get anything else to work, either. A shadow of false cognition, projected wisely, at the wrong time. Why does F. Russell focus on Steven Petruzzellis's self-esteem issues so much?

"You'll notice how quickly he loses interest when everything is about him. He clearly wants the attention"
Steven Petruzzellis, making the dumbest comment ever uttered.

How DFS decides when to use his flood script to disrupt discussions best http://usenet.sandman.net/misc/snit_flood.

Requesting DFS to stop trolling, as fruitless as it is, is not the same as referencing his fraud. My meaning was that good people show up here to combat those who disagree. It's not like most don't know what this place is, Melzzzzz included.

When I was not soliciting approval of the herd, I wanted to be equitable and nonjudgemental. I gave DFS more than a credible person generally would.

TrueOS is FreeBSD with easy install, package manager and openRC as init
system. Also uses libreSSL instead of openSSL. Own repo so portage from
FreeBSD can't be used.
Default desktop environment is Lumina specially by distro maintainers,
and file system is ZFS. Default boot environments is 5 as if update goes
wrong you can boot from previous snapshot.
But as FreeBSD is, hardware support is sparse ;)

What it looks like is irrelevant and easily remedied, especially if it's hackable. The one thing Snit learned well is to work to guilt Melzzzzz into silence and if that does not work, shout him down or quickly change the goalpost. I do not know if there is a free open source program to handle such tasks. Snit should realize Melzzzzz knows he is just being a moron!

Melzzzzz pwns Snit in every way possible. All joking aside, what lie? How is bash on Linux doing anything above the lowest common denominator? Right now there are too many "bugs are acceptable" people in this group and not enough users with a clue enough to help the people with bricked PCs.

Not when I'm on a *Linux* usenet group. I don't see the obvious interest
on Windows at all. If this was posted on a Windows group and I was
subscribed there, then obviously I would have interest about Windows. As
Windows is not included in the list of groups where this was posted,

Of course more info is just that, more info, personally I am more
interested in good working pro quality software, something is very
hard to find for linux.
A quick view on the TrueOS site shows me the same linux grap there too
so probably not much for me to gain.
Still I won't mind people posting things like other desktop OSes here..

And the troll is still trolling, disparaging Linux wherever/whenever
he can.

Ed, your failures with Linux are your own fault, not the fault of the
software as I have pointed out many many times. Your messy thinking
makes you make simple-minded mistakes which you can't see because you
don't want to admit your simple-minded messy thinking.

You refuse to take blame for your own words. Words that are easily shown in the Google archive.

BTW, I've already told him that his use of "cult-like" to describe COLA denizens is a hatchet job, since he's likening them to sled dogs. He disturbs an entire group of people who become collateral damage, but that's a self-centered troll for you. What chrisv and I care about isn't a factor. Valuable content creation will not be seen once the those of us here before the eternal September are outnumbered. That, and there will invariably be a mental midget or more in an open usenet group. The current tantrum aside, we have all seen who routinely pitches a fit when he doesn't get his way. Fool! Clearly there are too many "more choice is always better" Linux users and not enough users with the skills to help the people with psychological problems.

Good Guy posted this on the wrong Newsgroup.
Just another Troll to be filtered out and I wonder where
he gets 600 million Windows 10 devices.
I don't think his message is about the number of Windows
users but about another OS which might be interesting,
especially for Linux users.
So no need to go ballistic.
In that case it would describe what that new os has of interest for
Linux users.
He mention security and it is another alternative for windows.
No harm done in checking if it is something for you.
Windows? Why should I care, then? :-p
Because you are interested in such a thing obviously.
Not when I'm on a *Linux* usenet group. I don't see the obvious interest
on Windows at all. If this was posted on a Windows group and I was
subscribed there, then obviously I would have interest about Windows. As
Windows is not included in the list of groups where this was posted,
then there was no interest in Windows or for Windows. Obviously :-)
You are using a windows alternative although you too where force fed
with windows. So it is not strange in any way to suppose you are
interested in other alternatives too.

See? This is a good report :-))
So, you are sold now?
Nope. That paragraph fills most of my curiosity, enough to see that I do
not want TrueOS for me. I might investigate more, if I'm bored enough :-)
A paragraph like that above is what the OP should have written. That's
what I meant with "good report".
Of course more info is just that, more info, personally I am more
interested in good working pro quality software, something is very
hard to find for linux.
A quick view on the TrueOS site shows me the same linux grap there too
so probably not much for me to gain.
Still I won't mind people posting things like other desktop OSes here..
TrueOS is not Linux it's BSD. So no Linux grap there.
If you can't find pro quality software that's because you don't know
what you're looking for.

<giggle> If Melzzzzz has 'myFile.pdf' open in a word processor such as emacs and you want to change its name to 'mack.doc' via a proxy icon while connecting to a NFS host, that might be OK.

Time to blame anything but Linux! Almost all posters in this group do application development either as a hobby or as a vocation, so I am skeptical anyone here consider automation to be "voodoo". That's what Snit does when he gets mad. He quickly creates a new identity, starts a trolling thread so he can claim it was Melzzzzz. Hey it was my left hand... and then he responds to it with his right hand. What's Snit's poison for the flooding nonsense? JavaScript? That is the only database he knows, isn't it? He must be programming it to write these stupid "flooding" posts. My idea, Snit took the chatbot that he stole and declared it his... he is feeding it Melzzzzz's posts, grabbing random paragraphs, then mangling those using the BorΕ―vka's algorithm and then he annoyingly posts them because his insanity enables him to do that almost 24/7. I am not going to pretend Melzzzzz did not get me out of a tight spot on this stuff and I am thankful for his knowledge. Snit has my example as an example and might begin to seem like he is no longer complete ignorant from now on ;)

A sucking vacuum of ideas, magnified by the reciprocal of a mere moment in a cosmological time scale, demonstrating the vast nothingness of the main character's so-called thought process.

Cheers, Carlos.
It is obvious that all of them are not automated because some of them are keyed in to posts that occur in very specific ways which proves they are a response. Which can only be Snit. Snit's toned down the endless egotistical, senseless posts he used to post but he's certainly unchanged in the honor area. He just uses psychological manipulation more to produce those posts. GNU is based on Linux. Period.

Ending support for command line holdovers is long overdue. Snit can not help but grasp Owl knows he is just lying.

Snit is just thrilled that Owl is on the other end. Imagine if Snit walked up to a lobster and delivered the punch line. It wouldn't be worth it. If Snit calls being busted time and time again day in and day out by Owl and me (and completely killing his reputation and any reason for advocates to give credence to anything he has to say) effective 'trolling', then whatever... he is a great troll. I don't go along with that definition, I use another term. I call that person an out-and-out ass. It was Snit who was openly asking how better to obscure his trolling.

Ok, so that's a Windows alternative, I stand corrected :-)

But not production ready:

feature-incomplete but with many Windows applications already working

The pathological liar does it every time. Then the deluge begins. Because the troll just has to run to other groups to get the attention he's not getting here. Once Jeff Relf understood how convincing owl is at portraying himself as the 'injured party' he has figured out this isn't as insane as it was claimed. What did owl have to say about this miraculous, years long string of oddities? Most of the time he would try to push others to trust they're real people who just happened to have great timing. You likely think Ubuntu handles the desktop well. Nope. Not compared to the competition. LOL!

All that owl cares about is that owl gets to convey his automated call and then hang up and giggle about it. The fact that Jeff Relf is a real person on the other end of the phone is the game. Demanding owl to confess to his actions, as fruitless as it is, is distinct from spotting his fraud. My point was that honest people come here so that they can shoot down those who disagree. It isn't as if most don't know what this forum is, Jeff Relf especially.

Well, that's the job of the person that made the announcement ;-)
He did mention a couple things and anyone can check for themselves.

See? This is a good report :-))
So, you are sold now?

For all the boasting Prescott Computer Guy's done on this topic, the 'SEO Consultant' doesn't understand how to do this. It seriously takes a couple seconds to highlight a sentence and 'Google' it.

Sadly there are too many "no need for efficiency" Linux users and not enough people with the skills to help the people with old computers. Until or unless Prescott Computer Guy offers up his 'more streamlined' Mac application for review, there is no threat, just wild contentions.

I have worked for the OEM PC business for more than 25 years. I've had a contract with multinational corporations making deals with governments and police forces. Never, not even once, was I on any account instructed to not load any version of Linux. We sold AIX, Apple II, QNX, etc. in addition to Windows. Marketing is a wonderful thing and consumer herd mentality is even better. Someone's reverse compiled ChromeOS with a takeoff of value iteration to regurgitate texts which are not unlike those from those of one particular legit member.

With over 600 million devices now running Windows 10, customer
satisfaction is higher than any previous version of windows.
That is not saying much.
Windows in its previous versions wasted a lot of work time
and resulted in loss of functionality and privacy. It was like
a culture medium for viral intrusions and other malwares.
There are more than 600 million routers out there all running Linux.

Just that alone makes a remarkable statement.

Easily seen in his first sentence that the troll is one of Windowsdom's

Don't get too full of hot air, Melzzzzz, sometimes "seemingly intelligent people" are just that. Melzzzzz is just thrilled that Troll Killer Snit is on the other end. Imagine if Melzzzzz walked up to a cow and delivered the punch line. It wouldn't be worth it. It's a long, drawn out brawl, and Melzzzzz is simultaneously unable to stop his trolling remarks, while posting with socks with a myriad of tells. Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha! What did Melzzzzz have to say about this amazing support from new posters? Most of the time he would try to push Troll Killer Snit to believe they're long time lurkers who just happened to have an extremely bizarre entrance into usenet. Doesn't pass the laugh test. Melzzzzz is far too stupid to write a useful script. The only scripting he's ever shown he can do is simple stuff I did years ago. Do you have a high school diploma?

Everyone is Steve 'The Moron' Carroll -- the oldest gag in the book. You're clueless!

Steve 'The Moron' Carroll's posts are nothing but a senseless mess.

Why would you want to cap any applications on GNU/Linux to what can be done on the competition? You _do_ realize that the massive floods ending up in multiple groups started out as a joke about hacking Google.

In fact Melzzzzz's lies only grew. So naturally I regret not joining the herd in attacking Melzzzzz. While I am sure the trolls approved of it, being nice to him made things worse. No no. Melzzzzz never agreed to stop accusing good people of being like him. He lied about his trolling of course. The one talent Melzzzzz learned well is to attempt to guilt Steve Petruzzellis into back peddling and if that doesn't work, drown him out with flooding or dishonesty change the argument. It was Melzzzzz who got caught using untold numbers of puppets repeatedly, and these are 'people' who come out of the blue directly into threads where he was getting his ass handed to him... nonstop for years. If Steve Petruzzellis has 'b.doc' open in a word processor such as vim and you want to change its name to 'mack.txt' via a hot key, that might be useful. These posts are clearly at most partially automated, they are made by an overmedicated insomniac with a sick agenda who has way too much time on his hands (with maybe some scripted pre-processing).

Generally, I would not call something like Steve Petruzzellis's posts a fantasy until you challenge it (as you are here) and Steve Petruzzellis responds with the same thing again with one of his socks.

owl is a false advocate's hero.

It was Steve Petruzzellis who flooded owl's site thousands of times and denied it.

Like most everyone else in the US, Snit relies on false news to concoct stances on current events. Therefore, he only is aware of and listens to the media reports which also are the ones which describe free thought in an extremely approving and reasonable view.

For most I'd merely say it is suspicious. However, given that it's Snit I would drop that step and go straight to 'bullshit' because that's most of what Snit does. Meaning no evidence is required to deem it dishonest.

Snit's cut down on the endless narcissistic, bullshit posts he used to write but he is clearly consistent in the truthfulness dept. He uses shills more now to make those threads.

Snit shows this is an insomniac troll writing because some of them are keyed in to posts that occur in very specific ways with clear thought behind them.

Snit is being controlled by Microsoft. I'm guessing, after blocking all the sock puppets from Snit, it's principally just two flooders producing almost all of the bombardment. Yes. And both downright jealous dingbats.

Was that meant to be clever? Deplorable Owl can not help but know Snit knows he is just lying. These posts are clearly at most partially automated, they are made by a glue sniffing loser with a sick agenda who has way too much time on his hands. From what I've seen (which is none of it lately), it looks like the macOS ecosystem is breaking down. Deplorable Owl is far too stupid to write a quality script. The only scripting he's able to do is simple stuff I did years ago.

Deplorable Owl asked to be rated according to provable trolling measurements, which I accommodated.

That lame duck update system failed over and over again.

Higher than 2%, you mean? It is amazing what can be achieved by
arm-twisting. Windows has now sent me its "bells and whistles" update.
Windows itself couldn't install it, but my driver updater could. Even
with it, Windows runs a lot more slowly than Linux. It is high time
that Microsoft got their priorities right.
